Kate Garraway
Kathryn Mary "Kate" Garraway (born 4 May 1967) is an English television and radio presenter, freelancing primarily with ITV, Smooth Radio and the BBC.
Garraway presents a mid-morning show on Smooth Radio on weekdays as well as the ITV Breakfast programme ''Good Morning Britain'' on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Initially, Garraway appeared only on Thursdays in order to provide cover for Charlotte Hawkins. However, since Hawkins' maternity leave Garraway has appeared more regularly and currently presents the show four times each week, though as of 23 November 2015, she will only be presenting the show on a Friday. Previously, she hosted various episodes of the ''Good Morning Britain's predecessor ''Daybreak'' from 2010 until its axe in April 2014. She was also a regular co-presenter on the earlier programme ''GMTV'' between 2000 and 2010.
Garraway also presents ''The National Lottery Draws'' on Saturday evenings for BBC One.
==Early life==
Garraway's father was a civil servant and her mother was a teacher. She attended Dunmore Primary School and Fitzharrys School in Abingdon.〔Daily Mail Weekend Interview. 25 August 2012, p6〕 She then graduated from Bath College of Higher Education with a BA in English and History.
